• Grinding If the screeching sound has ceased and been replaced by a grinding one, this is a certain sign of bad news. Grinding indicates that your brake pads have lost their effectiveness altogether and the rotor is now grinding against the wheel. Should this happen, it’s best to have them serviced as soon as possible.
